B208 Audio production - 'The Hobo Blues'In Autumn 2005, the Cornish band Cahooty had the honour of having one of their hits, 'The Hobo Blues', being professionally re-recorded, mixed, and turned into a music video. This was my first major audio project - I was a part of a team of five students who each had their own role. I worked alongside a fellow student and we were responsible for the actual recording and mixing of the sound track. The band were a pleasure to work with as they permitted the production team full editorial control over the project. Our group obtained the highest mark out of the entire year. We used Pro-Tools to record and mix the audio - this presented me with a huge learning curve which I successfuly overcame by gaining an in-depth knowledge of the system. This project also re-enforced the value of good team work as we overcame challenges by coming together as a team. You can hear a sound clip of the original version of 'The Hobo Blues' by going to Cahooty's web site at http://www.cahooty.co.uk and clicking on Track 5 in the 'Songs' section.
